Bon courage

Luck is on our side
Bon courage! This is a French expression that I feel like I own. It’s a way of saying good luck for something in which you have some degree of control, meaning that you can work at it. I would say you can also say it with a bit of sarcasm, when you consider it’s not an endeavour you would pursue for yourself. I use a similar expression in Catalan quite a bit, which is “bona sort”, and it simply translates to “good luck” in English. And I use it both for wishing good luck as well as when I’m wishing well but also thinking “I hope you know what you are doing”.
Why am I telling you about this? On the one hand, I just wanted to share these expressions. On the other hand, Courage is how I call my website icon. The heart symbol I’m currently using as my logo has a rich history. I created a first version of it when I was a graphic design student, but even before I did have a heart based logo before (even I’m not at all a hearts and glitter kind of girl). With time I came to appreciate that “history” and I let it evolve in a positive and meaningful way. For me, it encapsulates the feeling of bravery together with fear, a symbol of contrasts. Furthermore, it’s a reminder of life, the love for it, as well as death. It’s also a wink, reminding not to take things too seriously. Whether it’s a website, work, or life events… It’s just life… before death.
Sea you soon.
