From the island, Mallorca

Lena Singla
Mallorca surprised me with its raw beauty. The turquoise waters, the rugged coastline, the quiet villages perched on hillsides.
Island Explorations
Beyond the tourist beaches lies a Mallorca of stone villages, ancient olive groves, and dramatic cliffs falling into impossibly blue water. This is the island that captured my imagination and filled my sketchbooks.
I spent two weeks wandering coastal paths, sitting in village squares, and painting the play of light on water. The island’s beauty is both dramatic and subtle - grand vistas and tiny wildflowers, all under that particular Mediterranean light.
Creative Inspiration
The island has a way of slowing time. Days blur into a rhythm of walking, painting, swimming, repeating. No agenda, just response to place and light and color.
These island studies will inform my work for months to come. Already I can see their influence - bolder colors, more confident marks, a looser, more expressive approach to landscape.
