Life is just a second

Lena Singla

But we all live fooled by the idea that we will have time.
And we know it’s not gonna be like that forever nevertheless we are hopeful and close our eyes to the reality of our 4000 weeks.

Why?
Because it is too beautiful but too fragile, so it hurts to acknowledge constantly that everything is changing and nothing will remain the same forever. We crave the security of knowing every detail of life, that the comforts will remain, that everything is like it is. And it’s even hard to think otherwise sometimes, until really good luck, or a bad occurrence strikes.
So we just wait until the consequences of changes are big enough to deal with the grief of what was and what won’t ever be. Living is hope and grief. We tell ourselves we are sensible because we are planning carefully for the future and not rushing into decisions that could damage our present situation. But is it so? Or is just an excuse? Probably, we have some of both. Carpe diem may be the greatest true but probably it’s not what we think it is. What comes to mind when you hear it? From whom has you heard it? To me, it projects the idea of night parties and day parties, burning the money, living for the day, in short term. I have probably not embrace it enough. Too worried, too cautious, too long. There must be a balance.

What can help?
Our thoughts, our feels. What activities make every minute lighter? What activities make you forget about time, bending it? We have to find them and practice them. What thoughts make jump out of the bed? Let’s keep them. What people fill our hearts? Let’s keep them close.
Too much good will not kill us (still avoid sugar) but it will certainly make everything easier.
