From the island, Mallorca

Mallorca surprised me with its raw beauty. The turquoise waters, the rugged coastline, the quiet villages perched on hillsides.

Island Explorations

Beyond the tourist beaches lies a Mallorca of stone villages, ancient olive groves, and dramatic cliffs falling into impossibly blue water. This is the island that captured my imagination and filled my sketchbooks.

I spent two weeks wandering coastal paths, sitting in village squares, and painting the play of light on water. The island’s beauty is both dramatic and subtle - grand vistas and tiny wildflowers, all under that particular Mediterranean light.

Dream of a Mediterranean View

Inspired by endless mornings spent looking out over the Mediterranean, this piece captures the dreamy quality of coastal light. The work combines watercolor washes with fine ink details to create depth and atmosphere.

The color palette reflects the natural tones of the region - azure blues, warm ochres, and soft greens. The painting invites the viewer into a moment of quiet contemplation by the sea.

Working on this piece was an exercise in patience and observation. Each wash had to be carefully considered, each line thoughtfully placed. The goal was to capture not just the visual appearance of the coast, but the feeling of being there - the warmth of the sun, the salt air, the sense of timelessness.
