What a lovely time I had in London! This will be a more personal post. For the nice photographs, check out my Postcards from London, because I prefer to show what I love rather than write about it. Today, I wanted to share a more personal view and experience.
It was my second time in London; my first one was during an end-of-studies trip with classmates in November, so it was a totally different experience. This time, I had freedom, a long list of things to do and, most importantly, super-good weather. And that’s a notable thing, as London weather has nothing to do with my kind of Mediterranean weather, the one that I so much enjoy.
The Recap
I had the chance to walk a lot, rejoicing in the beautiful streets, architecture, and flower-decorated details everywhere. I visited the museums and some galleries, even if it was just a taste of what London has to offer.
There was the chance to go to the Liberty London mall, something I had been envisioning for a long time. In fact, I had a very similar trip prepared for 2020 when COVID hit and cancelled my plans. It’s been a long time to get back here. Even though the exhibition ended a long time ago, I returned with the book “Bags” from the Victoria & Albert’s Museum, as a self-bought souvenir, as well as a postcard with a design by Mary Katrantzou, bought at the Textiles and Fashion Museum.

As you’ll notice, I’m a fan of patterns, decorations and fashion. Of course, I also saw works from William Morris, visited the exhibitions at the Tate Modern, wandered through English (and tropical) gardens, fed a squirrel, ate like a local and relaxed while drinking overpriced but delicious coffee. And the views, of course.
What to take home from the trip? The vibrant and young energy, the abundance of beautiful stuff, from what’s on the shops, to the shops themselves, but the architecture, the parks, the galleries… It does feel like an art-loving city. And the feeling that it would be nice to come again – as long as it isn’t too cold 🥶
My impressions of London city back in 2010
A totally different experience, when the city was much colder, darker, and almost ready for Christmas.

Until next time.
Sea you soon
