While in China…

The Chinese New Year is around the corner, and I can’t help but reminisce about my work trip there last year. The trip had its ups (meeting suppliers in person, experiencing the country) and downs (the exhaustion of long flights and getting sick). As with all travel to a foreign and faraway country, many things looked new and different to me—worth photographing, remembering, and sharing.

Even so, there is plenty I won’t be able to share, either because it isn’t relevant, I didn’t take a photo, or simply because I lacked the ability to appreciate its significance at the time. The reality of the trip wasn’t about enjoyment, but being in such a different and novel place meant there was much to admire and be thankful for in the experience.

This is me there, in the beautiful places.

And some of the nicer views

I think the beginning of the year is a great time to reflect on past trips. Furthermore, it’s a way to get excited about planning this year’s adventures—especially after the recent Blue Monday. Now, it’s only 20 weekends until summer, so a bit of wanderlust is definitely in order!

I already have some destinations planned for this year but I still find myself daydreaming about summer days. I love going on trips close to home, long walks, and swims at the beach and the good weather this last weekend was a hard reminder. Although I realize I should focus more on the present, but the wait is a little more fun by having something to look forward to, isn’t it?

Sea you soon!
